I have been part of Boy Scout Troop 28 since the fall of 1999. I held the position of Scoutmaster for many years. As Scoutmaster I had three goals, to get boys to summer camp each year, to have at least one boy attain the rank of Eagle in my tenure, and to get at as many of our scouts to go to Philmont as possible. I achieved those goals. I did two years as Committee Chairman. I have watched many boys come and go. Many have gone on to achieve great things. I met many leaders over the years that earned my respect and love over the years. I have had a lot of fun and had many fantastic experiences. The memories of which can never be removed from my mind. I gave up a lot personally in the name of scouting. I missed my daughter’s sixteenth birthday because of Wood Badge. Looking back, I have to say that I will never forgive myself for missing her 16th birthday. I missed many days & weekends with my wife over the years because of camping trips and other scouting activities. I am trying to make up for that now. I have been a scout since I was seven years old. At that time, I really had no say and I didn’t understand what it meant to be a scout. Now, I know exactly what it means. Being a scout means living the Scout Oath and Law every day no matter how hard it is to do so. I do my best to live it, not just say it. Putting me into scouting was by no doubt, one of the best things my parents ever did for me as it shaped my life for the better forever. Unfortunately, now, due to irreconcilable differences with other leaders over troop rules and policy, I have decided to step down as Committee Chairman of Troop 28 and terminate my membership in the troop, effective immediately. I wish everyone the very best in the future. I want to thank all those who have helped me provide a good scouting program to the boys of this troop over the years. This web site and domain are owned and maintained by me therefore I am shutting them down as well.
